Indi Pole Retreat in Paris: Was It Worth It?

Indi Pole Retreat in Paris: Was It Worth It?

Indi Pole Retreat was one of those experiences where everything just worked. The organization, the teachers, the vibe, the city. I literally didn't have to think about logistics once. I just showed up, danced, explored Paris, and soaked it all in.

If you're considering going to an Indi retreat (or any pole retreat, honestly), I want to give you the full picture. I talked with the team behind Indi Pole to understand what makes them different, and I'll share my honest experience so you can decide if it's right for you.

The Whole Idea Behind Indi Pole Retreats

Here's the concept: What if you could travel somewhere amazing and train with incredible pole instructors at the same time?

That's basically how Indi (the founder) started this whole thing. She wanted to create retreats where pole dancers could escape their normal routine, learn from world-class teachers, and meet people who actually get why you're obsessed with spinning around a metal pole. They launched their first retreat back in 2016, and it's grown into this whole global community of dancers who want something more luxurious and intentional than your typical weekend workshop.

Why Paris Though?

Okay, Paris was the perfect choice for a pole retreat. The whole city has this elegant, sensual, cabaret energy that just makes sense for pole. We did slinky heels classes during the day, then at night we went to Crazy Horse Cabaret (yes, really), walked the Champs-Élysées, had dinner at gorgeous French restaurants, the whole experience felt cohesive.

I also added on the photoshoot package because honestly, how do you pass up getting professional photos in a Parisian boutique hotel? I'm so glad I brought my SKINS with me so I could switch up my looks for each class and the shoot. That was a game changer for feeling fresh every day.

What Actually Happens at an Indi Retreat

Every detail was thought through. We were split into three groups based on our level, which made it easy to connect with people at a similar place in their pole journey. The training felt challenging but never stressful—just really supportive and focused.

Each retreat is a little different depending on the location and theme, but here's what you can generally expect:

  • Three-hour masterclasses every day (yes, three hours—but they're structured well so you're not dying)
  • Amazing instructors who are genuinely passionate about teaching (we had Tatiblu, Doris Arnold, and Lola Grace—all absolute legends)
  • Welcome dinners, group city tours, and a farewell event that honestly made me tear up a little
  • Optional photoshoots and experiences that match the destination
  • Beautiful accommodations if you go with the solo or shared package
  • A group chat that starts before you even arrive, so you're already making friends

I left every class feeling inspired and like I'd actually grown, not just technically, but in how I express myself and move with intention.

Who Should Go?

If you're worried you're not good enough, let me stop you right there. Indi retreats are built for different levels. Before you arrive, they'll ask about your experience and have you send videos so they can place you in the right group.

Some of their retreats are beginner-friendly (like their Heels Goddess Retreat), while others, like this Paris one, lean more intermediate to advanced. But regardless, you're going to be supported, challenged in a good way, and celebrated for showing up.

Traveling solo? Don't even worry about it. I watched people arrive alone and leave with genuine friendships. Between the group chat, the welcome dinner, and just the natural vibe of the retreat, it's really easy to feel like you belong.

What Makes Indi Different

There are tons of pole retreats out there now, so here's what actually sets Indi apart:

The masterclass format. These aren't quick combo classes where you learn a routine and move on. They're three-hour deep dives focused on real growth and understanding.

Small groups with personal attention. You're not lost in a crowd. The teachers actually see you and give you feedback.

No pole sharing. This might sound small, but it's huge. You get your own pole the entire time.

Everything flows together. The theme, the instructors, the city, the community, it all feels intentional and connected, not random.

It's luxurious and soulful. You're not just there to train. You're there to feel good, be inspired, and come home recharged.

My Favorite Moments

  • The walking tour where we learned the wildest stories about Paris's history
  • Getting completely dressed up for the Crazy Horse show (everyone brought their A-game and it was so fun)
  • The farewell dinner that genuinely felt like saying goodbye to family
  • Meeting dancers from all over the world and getting to gift a few of them my Invisible Heels Protectors—that made my heart so full

So, Is It Worth It?

If you're on the fence—just go.

Indi Pole Retreat is everything it promises to be: a blend of pole training, adventure, and community. Whether you want to reconnect with your sensuality, level up your skills, or just take a break from regular life with people who speak your language, this retreat delivers.

I left feeling inspired, confident, and honestly just really grateful I went. It's one of those experiences you'll remember for a long time.
