Among their exhilarating acts, their specialty fire heel act stands out, combining fire eating and pole dancing with custom dancer heels equipped with fire wicks. The unique fusion of fire and pole dance creates a mesmerizing spectacle, showcasing their unparalleled talent and fearless spirit.

BIPOC Circus Magic: Creating Inclusive Spaces

Driven by a vision of inclusivity, Jozey founded a BIPOC circus group called Spektra Circus, to address the lack of ethnic diversity in the performance world. “There is so much talent from Black, Indigenous, and artists of color that should be uplifted, seen, and paid well,” they explain. Although the collective is in its early stages, the excitement is palpable as it represents the first of its kind in the LA/Orange County area. The group’s meetups foster learning and collaboration, laying the foundation for future shows that will spotlight the incredible talents of BIPOC performers.

Healing Through Movement: The Power of Performance

For Jozey, movement is more than just physical expression—it’s a pathway to healing. Living with chronic illness and pain, they find solace and strength through performance art. “My journey with movement has been a healing journey,” they share. Their performances inspire audiences to connect with their bodies as an art form and healing experience. The joy and inspiration they bring to their audience also bring them immense joy, creating a powerful exchange of energy and healing.

Community Power: Organizing for Change

Jozey’s dedication to community organizing and mutual aid is a testament to their commitment to social justice. From prison and police abolition to community gardens and queer healing circles, they use their skills to support community growth and connection. “Some of the most rewarding experiences are hearing feedback from people directly about how much my offerings have supported them emotionally, physically, and spiritually,” they say. Encouraging others to connect with the healing nature of plants and herbs is a particularly fulfilling aspect of their work.

Templerotica Insights: Bridging Healing and Sensuality

Templerotica, a project dedicated to sex workers, strippers, queer folks, and sex-positive individuals, combines herbal medicine, sound healing, yoga, and workshops. This pop-up healing space and wellness project has garnered unique feedback, especially for their protection oil. Participants have reported feeling more balanced, assertive, and at ease in public spaces, highlighting the profound impact of their work.

Project Parade: SpektraCircus Collective

Among their many projects, SpektraCircus Collective holds a special place in Jozey’s heart. This newly launched initiative aims to create an inclusive and diverse space for BIPOC circus artists.
